i going to need to think about that combo a little, e34 535s have that back end but are the EH versions and need a computer to run them, ill try to remember to look around at work tomorrow and see what has that tail section
Good day,
I want to install a non-electronic 4HP22 into my Volga (Russian car)
Could you please tell me, what cars (body\engine combinations) came with this version of tranny (TV-cable, narrow-placed mounts, round 4-bolt flange).
Maybe you know the 1043-010-XXX numbers of such trannies too?
Here's the photo (taken by Winfred):
Thank you in advance!

all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it
Thank you very much Winfred!
Of course, it's much easier to install a TV-cable version of 4HP22, because it doesn't need anything but the cable
I know for sure, 200%, that there were such tail sections on early 4HP22's, but it's very hard to get more information for me here in Russia...
Thanks again
What kind of engine is going into the Volga? I've seen some pretty radical conversions in the VAZ and GAZ cars. Are you originally russian? Your english is great. Glad to see someone from the motherland on the boards
Good luck in your search!
2 Rus: wow! I'm glad too. The engine is 2.3l 16v 130hp. And yes, i'm russian, from Moscow.
2 silver-e34: Really? a non-electronic 4hp22 in 89-90 cars?
Definitely. I used to have one. With these, there's no E/S/W switch on the console.Originally Posted by Car-a-meller

never herd of a electric converter on the regular 4hp, they lock up but it's hydraulic at around 54 mph

Hi Winfred!
Are there any news about the tail section?
And I got one more silly question
There were 4 types of torque converters:
- 10 inch (255 mm) diameter
- 11 inch (275-280 mm) diameter
- 11.75 inch
- 12.75 inch
The 3rd and 4th came only with 735-745-750 as I know.
The question is: are 10 inch and 11 inch converters physically interchangeable? Do they have the same length (height)?
Thanks!
