I have lots of inactive lights in the dash... how do yo know you have ASC?
So I have a 1990 535i, it has an ASC light in the center of the dash...but I have no button...so do I actually have it or is it an empty light?

My guess is empty socket. No sense in making different dash panels for dummy lights. My automatic camaro has a dummy upshift light

Thats a bummer, because my manual talks about ASC...well **** I wonder how I can find out, could a dealer tell me?
ASC was available only in '93 and up models, I believe, and therefore never on the 535i.
ASC was replaced with DSC in '01.
You have an LSD (or should) and a right foot (presumably)... those combines with common sense is better than any ASC/DSC.

The most obvious way to find out is put the car in some gravel/dirt and go WOT
