You've got a short. Disconnect one wire from the defroster grid and see if it stops blowing fuses.
Which fuse is blowing?
Hey guys, did a search, but did not come up with much.
I have a 93 525i and my read defroster fuse keeps blowing. I replaced it, it worked for a couple minutes and it blew. Did it again, same thing.
Now, when I bought the car it had a bad alternator, don't know if that would cause any issues. Have since replaced it, seems to work fine. I also noticed when the defroster was on, put one hell of a load on the alternator. At idle, my windows were VERY slow till the fuse popped again.
Any advice?
Thanks a ton
Ash

"The gas pedal wouldn't go to the floor if it weren't meant to be there"
Note sure of the number, it is the 30amp under the read seat.
I will try unplugging one wire, turn it on, and see if she pops.
THanks
under the seat,#35 then according to my wiring diagram. The defogging grid is also part of the diversity antenna system. there is an amplifier and noise suppressor also between the relay and ground.
Has anyone fooled around with the radio antenna? There might be a correlation

I know the rear window has been replaced from the PO. Might be a problem there.
Do you know where this noise suppresor unit is located?
Thanks
