    Default OTish: Skipping CD player

I have an Alpine CD/MP3/whatever player in the E30 and it has started to skip on CDs not only on bumps but also when changing gears.

Have used a CD cleaner disk but it didn't help.

Anyone have experience with this sought of thing?

    Many thanks

    OT?? Thats right ON Topic.

The fact that it skips due to movement means it may be different than what i dealt with, but I'll give it a shot. I had someone ship me a non-functioning (skipped constantly) Alpine a few years ago, which I fiddled with and got working. You never know, have a read of this and see if it makes any sense. I wish I had taken pics, but once i was in there, it went so quick i didn't think to snap any shots.

It still works flawlessly to this day, even stuffed in the rear arm rest in the upright position.

    Thanks Dave, you're a legend!

I'll rip it out and try that.

Thank goodness Qube is on his honeycomb or I'd get flamed on not useing the search function LOL.

P.S. Do you know anything about 8mm movie projectors?

I don't flame as I often find myself typing before searching Thanks for reminding me QUBE is getting busy somewhere warm, I sent him a PM and haven't heard back.

Oh, and no go on projectors, the cd changer was a one time deal, I have little patience for breakable items, much prefer an engine

Let us know how it works out.
