Default Tire review - Yoko AVS DB2s (not "new model" DB2)

Soooo...after burning a set of these up, I feel like I should post a review of the Yokohama AVS DB tire (not the newer "two" version).

    Size 225/55/r16
Usage: daily commuting with an occasional jungle run tossed in
Total mileage I got from my set: just over 23k miles
How they wore: even, all 4 basically worn flat

In a few words, I don't know if I'd recommend this tire. Wore out too fast. Quiet in the beginning, not very quiet after 50+% tread wear. Tramlined like heck after 50% treadwear. Didn't buy a new set, went to a different tire.

Don't know what they did to the "2" version....but it would have to be one heck of an improvement for me to reconsider them. They weren't bad tires by any means, but I think for the money one can do better.

Default I put a set of AVS DB2's on last June...

I've got std basketweaves on a Sachs performance suspesion and put the DB2's on about 25K miles ago. I would guesstimate I'm about halfway through the tread life based on current wear and I think these are great tires. I replaced Michelins and the Yoko's are definately quieter and stickier.

I drive about 80% highway and the rest is twisty country roads complete with potholes and rough grade courtesy of county maintenance. There is no discernable change in the tires since I put them on. I got them at Discount Tire (they matched the tires.com price) and had them match balanced on the Hunter. I will definately stay with this tire!
