Default 530 "bucks" or "chugs" but driveshaft feels good....

my 95 530 w/ 90k seems to have a sloppy or loose drivetrain.........

if you are driving slowly like in underground parking garages, you have to upshift to second, or any slight torque will reverberate thru the drivetrain......clutch is fine, diff seems reasonably tight, half-shafts seem ok, and the driveshaft seems to have only a little play in it.

I cant see the center bearing w/o dropping the exhaust.

    any thoughts?

this really kills the drivability, and sucks in traffic........like today, one of the worst days of the year for traffic, at least up here in new england.

Mine seems to have the same problem lightly.
    Wonder if it's normal.
Can motor/transmission mounts be the culprit if if all else is tight?

Any thoughts on this? Best way to describe it is "slop" or "looseness" in the drivetrain.........chutch takeup is fine, and when i jack up the rear and turn the wheels with the car in gear, there is no more play than usual.....but car is a bear to drive smoothly in 1st gear.
