Default M Tech II steering wheel wear

My wheel has got some significant wear spots. Was really damp in Michigan this morning - noticed a few spots where it looks like adhesive is coming through. Anyone had any experince in recovering or repairing these ?

wear leather gloves. mine used to be sticky then I treated it with leather conditioner then it turned into frassled foam which looks like its now simply frazzled (whatever that means) I think Jon K's mom redoes this stuff , otr someone elses, not sure.
