ask about maintenance records, could add up quick if it hasnt been worked on in a while. whats the seat look like? Price sounds pretty tempting and if he is planning on auction he will probably take 3500 if you walk up with cash.

I really wasn't in the market for a different car but this thing looks hot The miles aren't bad and I don't think the price is terrible. He said over the phone he'd take $4500 but I don't know if he'd turn down 35 to 40 C notes. He said he is taking it to auction this week so I don't know what he's expecting to get there. I considered trading in my 1993 525i (black/black, auto, massive 16" bbs rk's but @ 203k miles, I shouldn't expect any more than $1500...(uneducated guess, and I love my car way more than $1500. Sadly all the doors are begining to rust, suspension needs major attention, alignment needed, needs new center console, AC needs a yearly charge, r134 thankfully, rear windows no worky, original auto tranny seems pretty good *knock on wood*, replaced timing chain/tensioners, she needs some tlc!) I also notice he states its a 1994, but it has the wider grills? hmmm so so so tempting. Talk me into/out of it! How do I loose the mental attachment to my baby?

Yeah the seat is hidden in the pic, wonder if it was on purpose...hmm. Whats the lip on the bottom front bumper? The style 5's (?) are a nice touchOriginally Posted by 632 Regal

That looks very nice, but pictures are not close enough to see enough cosmetic detail... as far as mechanics go, Jeff makes a good point, but you are also well past the 100k mile mark where everything falls apart, so fortune should be on your side. And yes, a '94 540i will have the better grill (wider ) $3500 would be a steal... heck, at that price you might as well keep both

no kidding, i would drive to ohio now just to look at it. seems to good to be true. i would carfax it and see if he will let to you take it to a shop/stealer for an inspection. let us know.

He said he will bring the car up on Monday for me to see before auction. I'll do the usual "this is broke, thats $100, this is worn out, wtf is this?" routine before I flash the dough. I told him "eh since your taking it to auction you must be having trouble getting rid of it?" and he said "a black 540i? heh no problem i've just had it for 2 weeks I have a thing for bmws..bla..bla.blaa" so who knows, a folder full of records sure would be nice. Thanks for the info guys
