Default Fuel economy of the 540iA.

Just wondering what sorta fuel economy other 540iA owners get. Mine would do a 8.5-9.5L/100km on 98 RON sitting around 100-120kph on the freeway. But I commute to work now and its all city traffic for 5kms each way. I checked my trip computer and my average speed has fallen from 77kph from when I bought the car to 43.5kph. Fuel economy wise its gone up to 13.7L/100km on 95 RON, but I think its closer to 15 or 16L per 100km cos its averaged over all the k's I have driven, including my highway miles.

    Any thoughts?

13 something is about right. the only way to get any better is to be painfully gentle with the pedal, defeats the purpose though

    24/15

I get 24 mpg on the highway, but only 15 mpg around town because I have to drive it hard to compensate for a hard-shifting tranny. Gas is down to $2.05/gal today where I am (Urbana, IL)

    Damn called out.

I've heard anywhere from 16-20 city and 18-22hwy. I guess it really depends on how heavy your right foot it though.

If I average 80 mph I still get at least 22.5 mpg on the highway... highway speeds lower than that can raise the numbers to near 25 mpg.

I get about 15-20 in town and like 25-27 on the freeway when I am paying attention.
