    Default Maaco Medusa

This car and paint job has been getting alot of press around lately.

I interviewed for a job with Maaco yesterday at their corporate HQ where this car was painted. After the interview was over I asked if I could snap a couple pics.

I'm hoping to get this job, part of it would be doing their advertising photography and video for their TV commercials that they want to start doing in-house. They are in the process of setting up a huge piece of unused warehouse space as a photo/video studio. The owner of the company also has several other businesses that will be supported from the facility.

Actually I only took 4. I have to resize the others or host them before I can post them.

The car is a 550hp Saleen Mustang. It was being worked on and the front was covered. The doors swing up and forward to open. Here's a link:

There is a link there to a photo gallery.

I thought this thread was gunna be about clearcoat spiderwebbing.. Although Maaco took their time with that car, their shop's paintjobs are sub staandard. Unless you pay them out the ass for a nice paint job

From what I understand from talking to them, they are aware of the perception of them being sub-par. The reason they are bringing the advertising in-house is to have more control over it. They are trying to eliminate the sheisters from their franchises and have training/certification and quality control over their name brand. They say their quality has improved but the damage to their rep had been done. It'll take awhile to undo it.

Their commercials are still corny, but if they want to pay me to film them and take pictures of cars for their ads, it's OK with me. I could think of worse ways to earn a living and have already done some of them, this seems decent to me.

Are you actually saying they do reasonable work at a reasonable price?
