    Default Engine Stumbles

    Hi Everyone,

It looks like owning a 1995 BMW 540i will a learning experience for me. The 540 drives well in every configuration except one. If I floor or step strongly on the gas the 540 stumbles and the check light comes on and goes out. I have driven the car over a hundred miles an hour no problem. I am thinking fuel or spark maybe the problem, any other ideas?

    Thanks,

    Len

change the plugs and fuel filters, what is the code your getting? I can almost bet that you have intake leaks, you will know for sure once it starts getting cold out.

If it is stumbling in the lower rpm range i would bet on the coils/coil boots. Chage the plugs and fuel filter unless you know for sure that they are good.

After the Check engine light flashes can you get any codes?

No! there is not a code showing for this. I will have to fix the low beam + and windshield washer fluid low error first (maybe). Low beam + is resident in the info area.

    Thanks,
