Default Quick Bumper Rock Chip Fix/Repaint (pics)

A few weeks back I finally got fed up with how horrible the front lower bumper portion began to look. I decided that I'd do a quick spray with Dupont's Semi-Gloss Black and see what the results were. To test, I sprayed the License plate filler first, and waited a couple of days to see how it held up.

These first pictures show the difference between the newly painted BMW plate filler, and the rest of the front bumper:

I than began the job of masking off the top portion of the bumper, above moulding, and onto the hood of the car, to avoid overspray:

And here's the finished job, less than 1.5 hours of work (masking defintely the longest part):

With fog lights still masked off (not too bad of a look)

    Fog lights un-masked:

While I was at it, I got a bit carried away :-P. I wanted to get read of the orange bumper lights by doing euro moulding... But instead, just removed and painted over them with a very light coat of black. The lights are still 90% visible at dark, and look completely black during the day!

Nice. I am considering having the body shop do mine when I have my new bumper painted. I have considered doing the work myself but a decent spray gun is big bucks.

Yea, it sure is. I've been waiting on getting entire job done till after I sort out other issues with the ride.
