    Default backup light problem

First let me say greeting to eveyone here. I hope I can be some assistance at some future time. Right now I need some help. I have a 94 525 automatic and my backup lights aren't working.

The wiring harness in the trunk don't seem to have any breaks. With both plug diconnected, I get 12vdc at brw & blu/yel on each side. With the right side plug connected, I get 0 vdc at brw & blu/yel on the left side. But with the left side connected, I get 12vdc at brn & blu/yel on the right side. Is that what I should be reading? My bulbs have about 1 ohm reading.

    What do I check next?

    Thanks in advance

The back up light switch is located under the shifter sliding cover. You will have to remove the shifter handle and the surround panel to gain access to the switch. The switch is mounted to the tunnel underneath the panel. Most of the time a good cleaning is all that it needs.
