oil leak on 90 525

hi, 90 525i m20 engine, 200,000 miles, have a oil leak coming out of a sensor on pass side of engine, above oil pan, a wire plugs into it that goes up around the front of the engine, sensor is almost in the middle on the side, is this a oil pressure, or level sensor, couldnt find it in the search, thanks
