Default Auxiliary Fan Switch/Radiator Fan Switch

    1989 525i (02/89)

Need some electrical help here. I found that the Auxiliary fan switch (or Radiator Fan switch or Double Temp Switch depending what resource you use) has been trashed. Not sure how it happened (I have had the car a short time and am finally getting some time to poke around (plus my A/C isn't working so I was trying to diagnose). I am going to replace that no problem, but the 2 of the 3 electrical wires that connect to it are cut off. The one good one was not connected. I have searched the forums and looked online, but can't find a good electrial diagram of what goes where. I can provide pictures tonight if that would help.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Here's a pic:

the brown-black goes to the bottom middle socket & the other 2 go to the top sockets, on the respective sides (left goes to left, right goes to right).

Default Just to make sure I'm describing the right part

    Thanks Gale.

This is the part that I need to replace. I just want to make sure what I am describing is clear. RealOEM, Bentley and BavAuto describe this same part differently.

Yep, that looks like it. I just replaced mine a month ago. As long as I've owned the car, that switch has never kicked in even tho it's overheated twice, once to the 3/4 mark and the other time to almost the red. I forget what the switch cost, something like $27 I think, either BMA or Pelican's.
