    Default Remove Hood Insulation Liner?

Any drawback to removing this liner? - is it noticeably noiser? Mine's falling apart. Not in a position to replace it.

noiser in what way?? like unpleasant noise or the elegant sound of a roaring m60/m50/m30/m20 (pick one)...

You can get a nice blanket style replacement. Heat reflective surface...about $100 or so last time I check. Keeps thinks looking neat. The under hood is a bit messy with the water lines for the sprayers plus wires for the heaters.

I was told it was a no-no due to the high temps under the hood. Is that not true?

Running with it for a long time makes the hood get hotter and will cook the paint faster from the underside. Also, you'll have the unpleasantness of steam coming off the hood if it ever rains (oxidation faster >:O )

Dynamat makes a under hood specific sound deadening material that is heat resistant. Might want to check out their site. I can order it for you if dont have any local vendors.
