leather and the shape of the pleats etc? BMW leather is some pretty good stuff and hard to beat. Not sure how much factory BMW skins are...know they are pricey.

not BMW dealership. You can't tell the difference between the non-OE skin and the passenger seat other than the fact that the passenger seat looks stiffer (more taught from age) and has some minor scoring (that I will color this summer). Color match was pretty damn good despite the age of the existing seats. The guy who did it is my neighbor who rehabs older collectors cars from Astons, Jags and Ferraris to American muscle cars. His specialty is rebuilding rag tops

good stuff Scott. The stiffness with age thing can be addressed with conditioning I believe. The leather does stiffen with age. My seats have this a bit as well in spite of vigilant care. Have been in Bruno's car also with black seats and noticed that his seats were a bit more supple than mine. Believe this is because Bruno refinished his seats at one point and conditioned the leather as part of the procedure.
