Subaru's are great cars to own. The sounds they make...yummy. Drive a STI and you will know what I mean. I will own a subaru again...

Subaru's don't break. Their engine's are great and the construction isn't overly complex. They are uncomfortable as hell though. And they look like crap. And they aren't terribly powerful in the standard models. But they run forever.
BMW's are all around great though. But with great power comes... you know the phrase. The car needs alot of care.
My parents have had a subaru legacy for about 10 years now. Oil, gas, tires, and timing belt are all that have been replaced. And it's at 270K miles. Still runs like a top, but again, it looks like crap on a stick. There's always a trade off.
