You need a 4 channel with x-overs built in.
Do you have a budget in mind?
Need recommedations for a good quality 2-channel or 4-channel amp to drive aftermarket Infinity Reference 5 1/4" (45 watts) in the kick panels, Kenwood 3" in the dash (40 watts), Vifa tweeters in the door pillar (20 watts?) and the stock rear speakers (30 or 40 watts maybe?).
Car is a 1989 535i (e34).
Would a 4-channel amp be a better bet?
Buy an amp with a internal crossover or buy a separate one?
Thanks.

New amp Ive been using a lot and its got really good power, sounds great, and is small making it easy to mount is the new alpine PDX amps. But, they are a little more expensive, but worth it.
elemental designs make an awesome amp.

Are you still using the factory X-over?Originally Posted by 1995 525i
No factory x-over in play. I'll buy an integrated x-over as part of the amp. That's good enough for me.
THere are many great and decent 4 channel amps out there. Visit your local stereo shop or retail chain like best buy or circuit city. Stay away from "the cheapest amps" and lean more toward name brands like Alpine, Kicker, etc.
