Maybe one or both of your banjo bolts fell out of the oil spray bar. Then you will get oil starvation in parts the valve train.
First thing to do is pull the valve cover and take a look inside.
Hi all. Well I'm back from Oregon and a little upset. The Cadillac got wrecked and my tapping came back. So the other week, before I left town, I did my valve adjustment on the M20 and she improved. Coming up I5 last night i heard the dreadful tapping super loud. I pulled off the hwy and was like damn... I decided to pull the oil cap for a second and guess what... I didn't see any oil on the valve train. Now unless I have completely lost my mind there should be oil moving across the valves right... Is there a coming blockage area in these cars.

The spray bar is a thin tube running over the cam, held in with cannon plug type flare nuts.
Could have bent it up while adjusting the valves?
