Default Haunted a/c , defogger / recycler switch

A/c cut out this afternoon, in about 30 degrees temp. Now the switch goes on and off. Same for the defogger. Goes on, turns off in 15 seconds then on again. Same for the recycler switch. I checked all the fuses and relays and they all seem okay. Since they all have separete relays, I'm guessing the switch... Any other thoughts...

Called the dealer, $140 Cdn for the switch and he doesn't have it...

I don't think so, it was loaded up last year with a new condenser and it was blowing cold when it cut out...

Well, now, the switch is probably shot. I took it apart to see and now it's dead, nothing.... Times like these, I wish I need somebody else with an e34 so I could try out another switch...

I was quoted $100 from the bimmer graveyard for the entire unit, sliders and knobs... I think I'll go for it.

Another question : with the a/c off, I put the dial at 18 degrees and the air feels hot compared to the outside air. It's now around 21 degrees outside. Shouldn't the air coming in the car be directly from outside and feel like it? Is it possible the temp. dial is also screwed?
