Default Sunroof won’t close all the way and seems misaligned

I don’t know how it happened. So far I have removed the headliner from the sunroof support panel (It needed to come off anyway!) Unclipped the two clips to unattach the sunroof from the lining holder (step 2 in Bently).

    Front seems misaligned

The back of the sunroof won’t go into the up raised position either.

The Bentley’s manual outlines that an allan key for each side goes in the rails of the sunroof. Figure 5.

Do the allan keys just stay there or do you move them around a bit. I’m a bit lost on this. I tried for a few hours yesterday but didn’t get far Must I adjust the screws do get the sunroof aligned again? Figure 6. I know the manual says do this but I can't see how it will change the alignment. All help appreciated.

looks like figure 3 is the adjustment, get the thing straight with the allens by turning? I dont read where you loosen or tighten anything to hold it in position tho.

Exactly. When you insert the allan key the sunroof is locked in preventing adjustment. Then the screws are the only adjustment. Is that right?

This is how it looks inside.

Is there a chance that the sunroof is just in need of lubrication vs. out of adjustment? Also, did you try opening/closing it with the engine running? The extra voltage might help.

I'd try the adjustment option as a last resort if it's something that shouldn't "just" go akilter. I'd make sure all the parts are operating smoothly first.

Default mine mysteriously got out of adjustment years ago

If I remember correctly, I never used any wrenches to lock anything into position. I just figured out about how much I needed to move it, loosened the screws, moved the outer panel, tightened the screws, then used the switch to close the panel. It took a few times to get it right, but it's been fine ever since.

I'm still having trouble with it. I can't reach the rear screws and the sunroof panel won't go up allowing me to access them.
