    Default Is this my headgasket?

    I'm a new 535 owner,
I've noticed a higher than normal amount of white smoke in the exhaust - not too thick, but enough for me to take notice, and my coolant was low - which I thought could have been the heater core over time - , but now I'm thinking (fearing) the headgasket. Is there any other reason for white exhaust in normal weather?

Also, peroidically I get a whif of raw fuel, related?

    thanks guys.

Could be, check coolant and oil. If either one looks like a choclate milkshake, it's the headgasket. If not, I'd still have it looked at. You don't want to overheat the engine.

Just did mine. Took me about 24 hours to complete by myself. Freaked out at first when I was done cause she smoked like Marge Shodt (R.I.P) but all was well after a few hours.

Holy Smokes! 24 hrs.? I feel like a complete whimp since it took me a week. The cleaning, polishing, getting the head re-done, yada, yada... not to mention those damn clips on the fuel rail.

Kick, FYI my oil and coolant did not mix since the crack was right at the back at a coolant passage. It sure did piss out a lot of coolant though. Yours could be pissing in instead.

    Take care,
    Dan

I had the head redone for me. I took me 'bout two weeks as well. 24 hours of work non-consecutive
