Mobil One 15/50 source in NC?

Mobil 15/50 source in NC? Raleigh is preferred location, but Wilmington to Winston corridor will do. I'm out and "typical" sources don't seem to carry it anymore.

Recommendations for alternatives. I have had good experience with Shell 20/50 dino.

For use in m20, m30, and GM 5.7 and 4.3.

Mobil 1 15/50 has been difficult to come by in California also. I stock up when I find it, especially on sale.

you got access to any Redline oils?

their 5W40 and 10W40 have the same high temp film strength as the 50wt M1 oils, but it has better cold start flow.

I would go with 0W40 Mobil 1 if you can find them at Walmart.

i dont trust M1 40wt after the sounds it made in my friends 3000GT valvetrain, sounds like the film strength is too low. also M1 has no moly in it! and redline has more phosphorous and zinc in it.

TSUV has more ZDDP than normal 40wt, would be a better match to an E34 engine than 15W50 viscosity wise too. I would still grab a moly additive though, since no M1 oils have it.

synthetic, its only available in the extended life synthetic. It was replaced by the 0w40 which is a far superior oil and meets bmw, mercedes,porsche,gm and vw specs, the previous 15-50 did not meet everybodies longlife requirementshttp://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/...l_1_0W-40.aspx

So, Mobil1 15/50 didn't go away. It was reformulated for extended life but viscosity properties unchanged. Price will be higher, of course, but if life extension is valid the actual "cost" of using it should be lower.

That's for me. Think I'll stick with it.
