    Default Rear Axle

    Hello Guys!

I have a 520 e34 m50 with the simple rear axle(bridge) and i would like to know if the axle from a 735 e32 would fit. Also i would like to know if i can fit to my rear axle(bridge) a diferential from a 535 e28.

    Thank you very much!

Not sure what you mean, when you say "rear axle(bridge)" are you refering to the carrier? part #1 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...33&hg=33&fg=30

To the best of my knowledge the carrier is common to all non leveleing e34's, and the differentials will all bolt up.

I don't know if a 735 carrier will fit, but there may be differences between the i and the il and alot of those had self leveling. Some research on realoem might give some answers as well.

Yes i meant the carrier. I forgot the word... my carrier is very different from the one that 525 and on have... So i don't know... The one from the 735 is non self leveling.
Do you know if the differential from the e28 will bolt right in?

So far as I know, BMW mades 3 box cases. small (318), medium (325 and some e28), and large case which all the E34/E32 in the US use. Obviously, you are not in the US so some Real OEM time might help you figure this out.

E34 M5 carrier (also the bushes and trailing arms) are different to all other e34, though exactly how I don't know. M5 trailing arms are common with at least some V8 e32s though.

e32 7 and e34 5 series have different axle carriers also, (perhaps this is the width of the car) but share the same trailing arms and other parts except the axle flanges which I suspect deliver a different track and rear rotor geometry. Again this is speculation.

It 'd be great to know the componentry differences properly... anyone that knows more please just say so...

So this is the carrier that my car hashttp://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...33&hg=33&fg=30
    .
After a little search i saw that from the 525 and up they use this carrier http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...19&hg=33&fg=30
Which is completely different than mine...

A friend with a 520 swaped a differential from a E30 M3. So if the differential from a e28 bolts to a e30, the one from the e28 bolts to the e34. right?
