    Default Won't Start!

    Have 525iT. 1993

Turns over really fast, no battery problem. Won't fire.

Wife just got back from 150 mile each way trip. No problem.

Then went to store 1 mile away. When she came out, it wouldn't start.

I drove over, and all it does is cranK very fast. Won't fire.http://www.bimmer.info/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif

    Has gas.

Just had oil change before trip by "Jiffy Lube" place.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    oil at right level?

do a fuel pressure check, pump may be dead.

I would replace the DME and fuel pump relays first.

All no starts begin the same way. you need to verify both spark and fuel, then isolate that system. Check both. If you have neither, then it is something common to both, which can be any thing from a blown fuse to a bad crank sensor or even bad DME.

Check this and reply for more info

    Faster than usual? Much faster?

If so and it were the M20 engine, I'd suspect a broken cam belt. On the M50, how likely is a broken cam chain?
