SNOW tires

After driving in 33 Chicago winters without I've decided to buy a set of dedicated snow tires this year.Getting old is a bitch.
This will be the first time so I'm looking for a concensus on which to buy.
Tire Rack has Winterforce, which I assume to be a Korean import at an attractive price. Anyone use these? The tread looks very agressive.
Who can comment on the norse brands?
I am willing to concede all noise,ride and handling for maximum traction in the slop.

Nokian Hakkapelita RSi are the best... super traction in ice and snow. It is also long lasting... way longer than Blizzak. Handling feel is very awesome... almost like a regular tire. Blizzak on the other hand feels rubbery.

I would not buy any other brand of snow tires.

Dunlop Graspic - very good in the snow - very tolerable on dry pavement. They are not much more than the Winterforce.

I was looking at Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 or X Ice. The Alpin would allow me to use them year round and the X would need to be shelved in the Spring.$190.00 ea mounted for the alpins,$150 for the X.

I run the RSi in 235/45R17. They are surprisingly squishy on dry roads compared to my summers (Michelin Pilot Sport AS) but excellent on snow and ice. Here are some shots from the middle of last winter:

Take my old winter shoes and wheels. I now have my winter beater as you saw. So, just let me know. I am not planning on driving the e34 in the winter since I just got it painted. Call me to pick up.

they saved me several times & i have yet to get stuck.
i went to a bmw ultimate driving experience & i heard one of the instructors ( race car driver ) saying they are the best snow tires he has ever driven with.
i will buy another set when needed.

I've run both Hankook W400's and Yoko IG10's. IG10's are very nice, slightly better grip than the W400's. The IG10's are only Q-rated at 205/65-15, but perform nicely and are not as expensive as the admittedly very nice Nokia RSi's that Anthony has.
