Default if you could bring back one thing from germany

what would it be? I'm going to be in Germany for 3 days (world cup final!) and I want to bring back as many e34 goodies as possible. I'm trying to narrow it down to what I want to bring back. What would you pick?

Antje, a 6' curly blonde girl i met in California in 1985 last known to be somewhere around Freiburg. It seems German youth have an entirely different attitude toward certain things than Americans.Take nude recreation for example... She invited me to spend the day up at a house she was sitting in Bonny Dune,Ca. At some point the clothes came off and we spent the rest of the day in our B-day suits. Jay and Claire couldn't get with the program but i was into it, or so i hoped..... Bed time came and Antje invited me, as though there were really no other thought on the matter,to climb under the sheets with her.Long story short, she'd make a good Goalie. Seems i completely misread the nude sleep over invite but was still smiling as i drifted off..Live and learn. Maybe i'd stay there if i found her again...

obviously stuff that's next to impossible to get or really expensive here that's dirt common, for me id want seat mounted fire bottles and their brackets, when they do come up they are pricy

i got lucky and found mine in a old euro e23 that for some odd reason had sport seats and a halon bottle, so i wound up with the correct bracket too, warning triangles and spare tire mounted gas cans are cool but more easyly gotten, there may be a problem bring one or more on the plane though, it may be seen as hazardous cargo, could be shippable

I certainly hope you mean finals and not final !

If you've got tickets to the final - wow - who do you know ?

Still it should be a good game - Sweden v Australia is my tip !

Edit : Seriously though, an E39 M5 would be worth bringing back !

Be careful though - some stuff for cars is ridiculously expensive in Germany as the manufacturers pass on the cost of licencing requirements that are mandatory (TUV and ABE). If anything, take plenty of pictures and kitschy souvenirs like steins and snow-globes. My mum lives in Hamburg and regularly sends me care packages with stuff I couldn't get here in NZ (mostly food, I like food). The most important thing for you to get while at THE World Cup are memories. They are the most precious thing one can take home from any event.

I think I'd goto visit our pals at ZF in Schweinfurt and Getrag in Ludwigsburg.

Be sure to drop in for a beer with our great mate Hans Baier, he has the Getrag plant in Ludwigsburg. Does an awesome job, his hands are really full now, but with any luck he'll arrange for a tour around the factories and perhaps arrange a beer with a few of the engineers for you... take a camera and let them know that your buddies are hella interested, that around 2000 bimmer enthusiasts will be coming with you through the lens of your camera and the words you can write afterwards. Be sure to take lots of notes, especially once the beer is flowing...

    How to find us

    • Manufactures manual transmissions for BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Ford and Jaguar
    • Production of spiral bevel gear sets for Audi, GM and Porsche
    • Associates: 610 (as of 01.2005)
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for any old tooling they put away in 1995-6! They've probably got some old 5 speeds and some other new old stock or old race parts we could do a group buy on... you'd just have to get pissed with the right dudes... let us know and we can arrange the rest with Hans from thereon in.
