    Default Help Please !!!!!!!!!!!!

    Can you help?

I have a 95 525 TDS touring, with an automatic gear box. The car runs and drives well. However whenever I come to a stop the engine dies. She always fires up straight away, but I have to rev the engine before selecting drive or it dies again. Once I am going she seems fine. At the moment I am driving her as a semi automatic, I have to knock her into neutral every time I get to a junction. A friend says she also seems under powered, but I bought the car with the problem so I'm not sure.

What do you think the problem is????????

Maintenance history on you vehicle is important here. For example, when were plugs and air filter changed? How many miles on vehicle?
That said, vacumn leaks can cause idle and power issues on gas vehicles. What does TDS mean? If a european Diesel, I personally am at a loss. Others would know more.
More information on the vehicle is helpful to narrow down the problem.

Thanks for the reply. TDS stands for Turbo Diesel Sport. I have no service records as I bought the car very cheaply with no history. I did however have the car serviced when I bought it. They couldn't find out what was wrong, and recommended I go to a BMW specialist
