I use Motul. I can't recall the series name off hand but I use a semi-synth 10-50. Expensive but as you rightly say it's on the approved list and it's given me good service since I've owned the car.
Time for some fluid changes...
engine oil, tranny, diffs, x-fer case..
I am using Redline for the diffs, tranny, x-fer case, but for the motor...
My new Shop suggested this:
Motul 8100 X-cess 5W40. This oil is BMW approved and recommended.
I told him I wanted to use Mobil1, but he suggested the Motul.
It is a race shop that has a lot of track and road experience, I have heard good things about Motul, I just want some additional info.
I can still do Mobil1 0w40 if that is what I decide.
Input please!

Bikers know Motul - I've been using it in my Suzuki gsxr750 for years (recommended by other bikers) - seems fine.
