    Default valve adjustment

just did my first adjustment today. not nearly as difficult as i thought it would be. i am going out in a few minutes to X2 check my work. i have 2 questions (amateur ones):

1 how tight should the eccentrics be

2 i did the job first time by hand (alternator); but i did purchase a starting switch from napa. my question is can i hook this up to the diagnostic port or should i use the solenoid. and if i can use the diag. port which color to which #. i know 11 & 14. but which color red or black to the #.
    thank you for any input

    1. The eccentrics only need to be torqued to about 89in-lbs IIRC.

    2. If its just a shorting switch, it doesn't matter which terminal you connect each of the wires to.
