Default BMW why do you continue to tempt me!!

    Ha ha ha...ahh...well..

You see some of you know i'm going to sell my 525i E34...right. So I might have sold it today..we'll see later. Anyway I went looking in the local paper for a smaller cheaper car, I come across a BMW E34 535i in very good con, back. For R19,000 1990 model. Down here that's a damn good price and in my budget. God! that offer is so damn tempting!!

However I know since it's a M30? motor and a 3 liter it will be a lot more heavier on fuel then my current 525i, correct?

    Yes, for two reasons....
    1) that extra .5 litre you have to feed
    2) something about having a V8 that makes your foot so much heavier.

That was a major concern for me too when debating whether or not to buy my 540i. Especially now that gas is $3.00 a gallon here in the states. But now, I can honestly say the extra fuel consumption doesn't come close to countering the Sh*t eating grin I sport when I'm driving her. 17 mpg city/25 mpg highway @ 75 mph as opposed to the 23/29 I was getting with my previous car.

No looking back and no regrets my friend....

Thats an extra 1(one) liter, not one half(1/2, .5) liters more.

Also, the "big six" is not a V8.

Why don't you just test drive it and see what you're missing? Then multiply it by 2 for when you get the chip.

    He meant 3.5L V8.
Cars with these may also be considered as "535"... (I don't like to do that)

No, the OP asked about an E34 535i. I don't believe the 3.5L V8 was ever available in the E34, at least not in the US.

3.0 or 4.0 M60 V8 only for the states. Does BMW have a 3.5 V8? Never heard of that.
