As I'm sure many would say, hold off on the FCP Groton kits. I got two of them for less than a song and installed one (the M5 'upgrade' kit). This morning I got some interesting vibrations for a little while on the highway, then it was gone. What can I attribute this to? The real stories that FCP may suck and it's more of a miss than hit? Or something else? I'll see later today.

By the way I've installed the kit less than a month ago.

Hmmm, so you are saying that I should stay away from FCP Groton? I am really tempted by the second kit from chicagoeuropean. It comes with a 2 year limited warranty and it says

    TECHNICAL INFO:

1- LONG TERM CRACK- RESITANT RUBBER DUST BOOT.

2- HIGHLY FINISHED STEEL BALL SURFACE. 66% LESS WEAR

3- MOS2 HIGH QUALITY LUBRICANT TO ENSURE PERFECT MOVEMENT.. RESULTING A BETTER STEERING FEEL.

4- I.S.O 9002 CERIFIED FIRM. CERTIFED QUALITY PARTS.

    5- INTERNAL METAL RING.

    6- LONGER SERVICE TIME.

    which is appealing.

    I don't know...

anyone recommend the second kit too? Thanks guys

Good question, anyway. I'm curious too. I'd like to restore my front end and steering feel to the way it was 16 years ago.

    Default I emailed chigagoeuropean...

I wanted to know what brand the items in their kit were. All you see in the picture is that the bushing is apparently Meyle (which is pretty good). I never got an answer. Then I noticed that they have a 100% feedback rating, but they have their feedback blocked so you can't see the actual comments.

I did a web search using their kit part numbers and found a website for chicagoeuropean. They sell these kits and imported furniture.

Unless I get something telling me the brand of the parts they sell, the so called 2 year warranty is basically worthless IMHO.

Do a search for FCP Groton in the forums. I've made a few comments as well as others and you can make a decision They seem to honor their warranty. I still haven't jacked and looked at what was vibing at 120kph this morning.

Another possibility may be the Flennor brand that BMA is carrying now. They sent me Flennor belts and they seem to be very good quality.

I have meyle thrust arms now.

they have "upgraded" bushings, but the ball joint area is already VERY rusty after 2000 miles.
