'95 side mirror question

Hi guys,

Im considering changing my stock side mirrors to that of the '95 type
(E39 also looking). I currently don't have the heater function on the mirrors. However, I found someone selling a pair of side mirrors with the heater function. Would anyone know if I could use these heated side mirrors on my car? And would there be any mounting issues (not direct fit)?

Heated glass was available for your 89 I believe. The 95 glass is different than the 89, so not sure it would fit in or not. The drive is the same part, so it will snap onto that, how it will fit in the enclosure is a different matter. No idea if the assembly will retrofit, I would think someone has tried it. There are some minor differences with memory and tilt down feature, but the wiring should be straightforward if it needs to be modified at all.

Pop the glass out and see if the heating wires are in there. You may even have heated glass with a burned out element and not know it.
