    Default ski hole

this might be a stupid question because i havent really put any effort into finding out myself, but...do all e34s have the ski hole? because i looked in my 91 525i and there was like a rubber wall there.

I checked behind my back seat. I pulled back the rubber and found a metal plate perforated at the ski hole. I am planning on cutting the perforations to create the hole.

Give it a big kick from behind. It'll pop straight out.

No, I tried to remove it without much force or cutting tools but couldn't get it out. If you don't cut it out, you will probably end up bending the metal around the hole and it will just look like a shitty job. I am planning on using a dremel but if that doesn't work I'm bustin out the sawzall.

I hit mine with a dead blow hammer, it popped right out with no problems at all.
Then go to walmart or the like and buy a package of the door trim guard that they sell, it has adhesive inside. Cut it to length and then run it around the metal edge so nobody gets cut on it. I think that two strips covered the edges with about 3 inches cut off of each one.
