    Default Stupid V8 engine question.

I was looking at the vanos and double vanos arrangement on the later BMW 6 cylinder engines on www.realoem.com the other day when it suddenly occured to me that I have never read anything about variable valve timing on the V8s, 3 or 4 litre.

Do the V8s have variable valve timing ? Also, if not, why not ?

Sorry if this is a really stupid question !

id just go for a regular m62 so you could use the stock v8 harness and not need to deal with the vanos, if you want something spunkyer get a 4.6 from the bad ass x5/automatic z8, 340 something hp alpina motor

Heh, thanks Winfred. Choices galore. Maybe in a few years these motors will be real good value... quite a few are being sold- as opposed to e28/34 M5s and Schnitzers that were always as rare as RHS...

I would find an S50B32 engine from a euro m3 and stick a turbo on it.

500-1000HP depending on boost and mods, the iron block can handle a LOT of boost
