    Default What do i do without A Master Key

    The PO only had the spare key , well im assuming its the spare cause it has an S engraved onto the key.

    So i cant do anythinkg like lock alignment or whatever other procedures with my key.

    What the heck am i supposed to do??

    I believe you can get a new key at the dealer if you supply proof of ownership and a VIN.

    In Oz they are about $30AU brand new, but more for a light-up key, and it takes a few days/week or so to have it made.

    Unfortunately yes. Alexlind123 is right, but one key is ~$225 CAD. I don't remember the exact amount, but thereabouts is what I remember one of the technicians at the dealer saying.

    speaking of keys, what type of bulb goes into the ones that light up...apparently the PO lost it or something, its not there..

    i can't remember what seporates a valet key from a master on the e34 style key, i think it's the groove down the center, you can usually make a valet key a master in a minute or two with a dremmel, if it was a e30 style key i could show you easy

    Probably a 3mm LED. Unfortunately I don't know jack about electronics, so I can't help you beyond that.

    the orignal is a 3 volt glass bulb, radio shack has the battery but it's been a while and i forgot the #

    Dealer here asked ~50 for valet and ~75CAD for main. I got a valet as spare needless to say
