    Default Strut change spring compressor?

Strut change spring compressor. Will compressor that worked on '68 2002 be OK for '89 525?

Fairly generic. In fact, I was just using a pair last night. Unless a 2002 spring is something special, I don't see why not.

Just bring it to a parts store. They'll do it for $25.

My generic autozone set has done my 89 525, 86 jetta ( watch out for 1.6 liters of n/a diesel in nc) and my BIG POS suby impreza. If you come to Wilmywood you can use them. I am around the corner from the laser-wash.

Ajt, thanks for post. I know where you are. Used the Laser Wash. Made favorable post on it and caught all kinds of gibberish comment about it.
See another Rigmaster event rising. Come on up. Nice event last time. Have a couple of sons in ILM so we're around some. May come down this week. Son has been in the Caicos on business for weeks and is home for a week before going back. We have some BMWs in ILM and a few here. Maybe we can tip a couple at the Dockside one day.

becareful when using the elcheepo threaded rod style compressors as they can slip and launch, i use 3 instead of the normal 2 when i have no choice but to use them, that way the spring is more evenly compressed and doesn't want to squirt out (saw a guy get hit in the nuts with a launched spring)

Ajt, son had his '86 535 towed to the dump, got a flat on the ocean on S Lumina, bot a Subaru Outback for driving on the beach, and a new 27' center console which is down in the Caicos. Shows what can be done when relieved from BMW maintenance.

Winfred, you do have a flair for the dramatic. I'm convinced. What is the max spring compressors that can be used on e34 strut?
