    Default Dinan S2 M5 e39 vs stock e60 M5

Great to see how 2 different engines perform against each other. The V8 has some torque and the V10 clearly is tuned for high rpms. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...25&q=m5+e60+s2

Default S2 M5 also has 3.45 rear end instead of stock 3.15....

would be interesting to see the two against each other with a stock ratio in the E39 rear end

Who cares how fast it goes? The E60 is too ugly for words.

    Default Oooooh...

    dems fightin werds

you wouldn't have to look at it long b/c it would be out of sight....

I like the E60 530, 545/550, and M5 when the sport packages are applied and the wheels fill out the well. The base 525 with skinny wheels/tires looks like a fat guy with skinny legs/ankles to me.....unstable.

From the time it was introduced, I wanted to like the E60. When I decided to replace my E34, I would have preferred to buy a new E60, but every time I went to the showroom and looked at them, I just had to walk away. They're one of the most visually jarring and ungainly looking abominations I've ever seen on four wheels, especially when you consider what you pay for one. So I did myself a favor, saved a lot of money, and got a very nice, very good looking, used E39. And I don't care that it's not as fast as a M5 of either type.

I agree with you 100% on the E60 looks, even the new 3-series, the 6 is terrible looking as well. Was at dealer today buying parts and compared the E60 4-door to the Touring and IMO the lines flow better as a Touring. Then there was the M5, ugly as sin.

I tried to like it but cannot. Now that Im thinking about it, Im going to write BMW a letter telling them to get their act together! Just cant wait to get that typical German bureaucratic (sp) response letter.

Another M5 video, although most of you have probably seen it, but awesome...
