Dude! They make BBQ's for that sort of thing, what was that piece anyways? Shingle with honey on it?
Had to replace the end tank on my cars radiator this week.
When I pulled the rad and oil cooler unit I was absolutely shocked at what I found..Check it out..
And the car ran sweetly with no hint of a problem..
Anyhow, all is sorted after I found a major leak in the oil cooler as well-this was probably the cause of all the crap build up..

No,Not at all..our local radiator shop has the end tanks in stock. They remove the old and crimp a new one back in place..
Dont know about an animal, but I did find cigarette buts down there..!!
oil cooler..i thought only the auto had oil cooler.trans fluid cooler? So all 535 have oil coolers in radiator
Gone but not forgotten
all 535i autos have an auto trans cooler hooked up to the radiator. the oil coolers are rare and seperate.Originally Posted by Paul in NZ

I think its got to do with the climate .
Paul,Ozz should also have the oil coolers as std fitment??
Sorry mate,NZ....
Barry, no e34 that I know of had oil coolers fitted as standard. I thought you where aussie there for a moment, S.A = South Australia, well not quite! I have the lines and cooler at home, I just need the oil cannister (US$75 used or us$300 new) and a few clips to install it. Do you have an oil temperature gauge Barry? These things are very rare in Australia.
