Default minimum requirments for soldering ;-)

Look at this, that is the workshop of my friend Reinhard in Germany. He soldered already many parts for me and also made the modified glovebox light.
You can also see the test installation for a controller for heatable jackets for BMW motor bike clothes. He delivers to BMW too.
One of the soldering automatic machines costs more than my 750 was worth when it was new.
I think my parts are in good care there

BTW: I am just trying to build up a group of soldering experts for LKM and all the other modules for people which are afraid to solder electrics, like me too
Paparon is the first one who offered his help. He has 20 years of experiece in electronics.

Feel free to contact him if you need help. That does not matter in which board you are posting, as long as you drive BMW E34 or E32.

My bro (electrical engineer) has my E24 cluster boards... if he doesnt have the time he'll just give it to one of his cronies to do the work.

Wish I had steady hands to do that kinda work...... the tools I can always buy, but the hand jitters......

Looks like he could use an anti-static mat. I'd never open my ECU or the like unless fully grounded on a mat with wrist strap etc. Likewise, a properly grounded soldering station is a must for soldering on any sensitive CMOS circuitry.

Default Okay, I have a LKM that has started to give me problems....

......I did some research and all indications are that I have the LKM problem described in the several posts I found concerning the LKM module. What do I have to do to get it repaired? If you have a PayPal account, I will gladly pay a fee (including shipping) to have it soldered by one of the experts. I can be reached at rodericb@bellsouth.net. Thanks in advance.

Default so far you can contact these persons:

    quotes:

Well Shogun offered it up and I'm able to do it. I have the tools and years of torture so E-mail me and we'll go from there.

I'd like to start out with the LKM

Swords and capacitor fixes maybe even servotronics a little later.
If you need them done though ask and I'll see.
It is more about how to obtain the parts doing the work is OK.

Let's make it clear though DON"T TRY TO REPAIR AND THEN SEND IT TO ME HOPING FOR A MIRACLE.

Do not have Pron's experience, but 20yrs as ARS operator/builder I have klutzed my way through a few radios, amps and stuff. Definitely an art form which I have yet to master. But I will support the effort best I can.

    Gus:
work repairing electronics systems to trobleshooting to the part level and to soldering in replacement parts, current job is 22.5 years + before that. I have replaced thousands of caps over the years in all kind of stuff. If you repair your own use good caps like nichicon panasonic elna BC mallory sprage rubycon try to get low ESR and 105C rated caps. With caps you get what you pay for. At my job I have access to a sencore lc102 meter and have tested a lot of caps over the years.

In the USA mouser and digikey are good places to get caps Li batterys and mosfets etc. I like IRF mosfets.

I don't know if I would have the time to solder but I might be able to give something back like testing cap brands for all the help I have found at this site and other sites.

I am in central NJ USA so I might be able to help people local to me.

    Maybe more to come.

But if you print out the instructions, any radio repair shop in your town will make it immy within a short time, if you need it urgently done.
