Default Free BMW Maintenance for a YEAR??

Who has paid the most in the last year keeping their cherished Bimmer on the road in camparison to the value of their car?
Come on - Who loves their care the most - regardless of sensibility???

    My list is as follows....

    Head Gasket + Head Skim
    Full Exhaust
    Fan and Clutch Fan
    Battery
    Full set (5) tires (Goodyear)
    Plus many other smaller jobs.
    Total cost £1700+ ( $3200? )
Plus another £400 ($700) to get through the MOT!
    and the car?
    a 1988 530i value - £1000 if Im lucky...

Default That is just the tip of the iceberg.

A mechanic I go to from time to time says that people spend on ave of $3500/yr. Whether you believe this or not, that's another story.

Default I spent about $2,500 last year

Most work was to bring the car up to standards as I just purchased it in January 2003. I expect about the same this year as i will have new items such as strut arms etc.

    New tires
    replace cd changer
    plugs and valve cover gasket
    full maintainance and all fluids
    lots more I cannot remmenber
lots of detailing supplies and tools!
