    Default Door Handle Gasket DIY?

I know someone posted it a while back, but I can't find it. Yes, I did search for all variants of the door handle keywords.

    Thanks in advance.

I've NFI. Check Shoguns link list on Bimmerboard maybe.

However u do it like this-

    1. Get the gasket/handle/s
    2. You need a strong piece of wire with the last 3 to 8mm bit bent 90 degrees (a semi hook)
    3. something to clean behind the handles with
    4. open each door, pop the little plastic bung on the inside of the door just above the pillar-latch. Through it is a piece of metal that slides back and forth about half an inch.
    5. use the hook, push it forward (ie the direction the car drives forwards) when the doors are closed
    6. the handle will fall off.
    7. clean, repair and replace. If painting your handles, try matt black, its works well if you prepare well, gloss or body colour is very much harder
    8. install gasket and handle, now use the hook to pull the latch back towards you to lock the handle in place.

It's that easy, but the latch is confusing at first as you might not think its the bit you have to push/pull.

Instead of using a wire to pull on the locking plate you can use a small allen wrench with pliers. Grip the wrench tightly with the pliers and use the wrench as a hook inside the door. Don't position your face directly behind the pliers/hand or you might get smacked should the wrench/pliers slip (guess how I figured this out?) Hope this helps.

Do you mean to make the door handle gaskets DIY?
I once read about that here, but forgot who did it.
    Just would change them

Best tip I could give you from when I did mine would be to let the rubber gasket sit in the sun to soften it up first. That makes the job go easier.

Shogun, you are the man. That's what I needed.

I have the gaskets, I don't need to make them. I bought them from the one eBay guy from Malaysia.
