Symptoms of improper belt tension include:
Belt squeal.
Noisy alternator, power steering pump or A/C compressor bearings (from excessive belt tension).
I have the above symptons on my 95 530i. Where can I obtain a new V belt from? What tools are required to do the install? I want to try and replace this today, or tomorrow morning, if possible.

oh yes, and be careful not to strip the threads where it tightens by the oil pan.

Serpentine belt? or V-Belt? Which does the 95 530i have? I stopped by pepboys, they stated they only had a serpentine belt.Originally Posted by saj3n
