    Default OT: Reclaiming my youth...

...was in my folks' basement the other day, and found my old Darda car (I've since found out it is a Stratos model), actually made in West Germany. Junior loved watching it go across the floor on its own (actually moved pretty well for 20+ yrs old). So of course I had to go out and find a track today for us to play with it on. The old diecast car can actually do both loops shown here. Amazed me!

Default ...oh man, this could become addictive...

...my wife and I were at Tuesday Morning, the discount home goods place. I ran across a Darda track, missing the cars, but marked down to $7 from $40 (if it included the two $7 cars). Amazingly, it was all there. Talked 'em down to $5, and took it home.

Looks like this, minus the cars:

Junior already loves it. Now we just need a second car, and we can go racin'!

I need to find soem of those tracks. I had a ton of them growing up but now everything is theme based with a bunch of extra crap. I just want nice simple tracks like those you posted. My son loves those things.

One of the great joys of being a parent is the chance to play with toys again. My son and I had a blast with radio controlled cars when he was younger. Have fun!

You pull them back to wind them up and away they go.

My Dad and I used to build rockets (estes) and take em out to a field every weekend. Before Christmas I was thinking about them again and guess what Grandpa Santy brought for Christmas. Estes!

    My daughter's gonna love em.
