    Default Wheel and tire questions

I just had a set of wheel and tires put on my 91 525i today the rims are 17x8.5 offset is ET 20 The tires are 225/45/17 that I had on my other car. The problem im having is first the front rim or tire seems to be touching the strut its hard for me to tell if its the rim or tire because the car is lowered. There is also a wicked vibration in the front. Am I running the right size tire or should I try a new set of tires. Also my car is lowered using bavauto springs and bilstein sport shocks. Do I need a 5mm spacer in the front I thought I would not need spacers because the rims were the correct offset

    Thanks

I have 245/45/17 and they are fine. I know 235/45/17 works well also

You may need Hubcentric rings for the vib. I had to put them on mine to get read of the vibration.

Yes, you will need spacers. I have 17x8.5 wheels with 18 offset. and it will touch the strut when taking hard corners. You can try to see if there is enough space by jacking up the car and try to fit some card board between the tire and strut.

ET20 is the correct offset with an 8" wheel. 8.5" wheels need ET13. If you can find a 5mm spacer you will need it.

Correct tire for this wheel is 235/45R17 but you can also fit 245/45R17.

Actually, et. 15 also works with 8.5x17 and 235/45/17's. It is pretty tight thouugh.
