Default All I want for Christmas: CARFAX and a Jax Kar Wash 6 mo pass

Looking for a carfax for a Rover: SALTY16473A794296 (send it to junk@andyzale.com or post it as a thread if it is interesting - thanks in advance).

And while we are on the topic of salty, I am looking for your input:

I was going to see some automotive industry clients and I knew I had to get a wash, and fast. I live in an apt (in Michigan) and the last time I did a hand wash, I left 1 inch thick ice on my dad's drive. After calling around to difference auto washes, I found one that did *not* reclaim/recycle their water (Michigan road salt + heat + water + pressure sprayer = corrosion in places you didn't even know existed). They have a 6mo pass for $289: one wash per day, mats cleaned, vacuum, interior wipe down, windows and hand dry. That wash is normally $12 so a weekly wash is breakeven. What do you think?

When there is snow on the roads I will be going every day. Should I tip the wipedown guys? Everyday?

    Whats ice?

Does the place get busy this time of year to the point where you would avoid going if you had to wait in line?

Will you go more than once a week? If you really need a wash more than once a week (for the salt), I'd go for it.

I bought it. My car is clean.

Almost everytime I drive by, I see nice cars rolling out, but I've only gone to get a wash twice and there was no line either time.

Maybe the company will go out of business before I can breakeven with my 6 month card. Next time I go I'll ask the cashier what the customary tip is and toss some $$ at the workers.

I talked to a previous car wash owner and he said the reason scented waxes became so popular was that some car washes didn't want to spend the money to clean out the bins in their water reclaiming process . . . nasty.

So does anyone know someone with a carfax subscription?
