Default questions about changing automatic transmission fluid in 1990 525i

The auto-trans feels like it's slipping gears so I have heard that likely means low fluid or fuild change.

I have the Bentley manual and it calls for "removing the ATF oil sump bolts", but the picture looks like the engine oil pan.

1--Do I only take the ATF oil sump off?

2--Are there any gaskets or filter I need to replace (purchase beforehand)?

    Thanks.

    LOL...about as helpful as me.

Get the part numbers at realoem.com and look them up at BMA's web site.

I know, but that would make things simple...people should see what they have and go from there...I learned a ton of info here from leads and not direct answers.

Yes, you only take the sump off. There is a metal filter, a gasket for the sump and a o-ring that should all come as part of the filter kit you buy; if you do buy the kit.
