    Default e34 worth $4000

I need examples of an e34 worth 4k. I'm trying to beat my seller down and I need some ammunition before going in there tomorrow.

bimmerd00d drove it yesterday and gave me some ideas and also told me its not worth the 4k I was gonna try to pay for it. It has the brake linings message on the obc, the obc wasn't bright enough to see the mileage, it has minor suspension problems (which is evidence of the necessity of replacement can you say sachs sporting : ), the clutch was strong and good, but bimmerd00d said the shifter linkage was bad. The engine was all there. It was clean on the outside and revved well and ran well. Cosmetically, the interior is alright, not close to perfect, but definitely respectable. It needs floormats, and good vacuuming, the gauges are all hanging out a bit, and some minor cigarette burns on the interior. What do you guys think its worth? I was considering offering him $2900 cash, we already have a $250 deposit on it.

Good mileage for 89...if you like the way it looks...4K not bad...course I'd offer 3K and see if he takes it....may be buyers market..most people shy away from old BMW's with 160K miles.

The paint is in good shape, the clutch was changed, its very fast. I really like it and he might use that against me since he knows I wont walk away.

I would pay what I paid for mine for it, $3,100 CDN, maybe a little more.

Sure it needs some work but hell man its old . My car needs work and still does even though I am dropping just about every penny I can into it. Its all in the fun of owning it. One day when you got everything fixed up and have spent too much money on it, you will be able to think to yourself, god damn that was worth it, driving down the street doing 100mph, can't hear a single problemw ith th ecar and it reacts on a dime.

Its worth it, if you offer him 2,900 and settle on aroudn 3,400, I would call it a day and take it.
