    Default reverse switch

I have a 91 535i and my reverse lights aren't working was told to check the reverse light switch. Can someone tell me how to find it?

Assuming it's a 5 speed, the switch is on the right side of the transmission, a 14 or 15mm hex; wiring passes up through the shifter body gasket and connects to the body wiring harness underneath the leather shift boot. Pull the boot and inspect the wiring before doing anything else -- it's possible that the wiring is cut or worn...

Default Also check your trunk hinge harness, do a search, ...

the reverse light switch in auto is the same Transmission range selector switch, at the center console, but again, bet to the trunk hinge harness.

Edit: The backup lights switch is between the Green/Black and the Blue/Yellow wires in the range switch connector (pins 6 and 7).
